Before and After
Example #7
This redesign involved addressing a living room and a dining room. The homeowner stated that the dining room was cramped especially when the 84" of table leaves were added on to accommodate her visitng family and friends.
Since this room was also where the stereo and grand piano were kept,it naturally became an extension of the attached music room (not pictured). It made sense to redefine the purpose of this room by moving the dining table into the very large living room. This allowed for the space to now be a comfortable area where folks could sit, visit and listen to music much more comfortably. By moving the dining table it would also be much easier and more comfortable for her guests as its new location allowed for much more flow around it.
Most of the time the homeowner was alone in the home. The living room was where she spent most of her time watching TV, reading and even eating her meals. It made additional sense to better accommodate her daily lifestyle with this change. She also wanted a less cluttered and more cozy feel in the living room , which I believe we accomplished as well.
Now, she is able to go about her daily routine as well as entertain family and friends in rooms that are more functional and accomodating. All of this was done without spending any money!
Note: We only addressed furniture placement in this project. The wall colors, wall art and furniture accessories will be another project at a later date
